4th Class Cadet

Courses and Activities

ACADEMICS

Cadets are expected to complete a minimum of 8 scholastic units during their 4th Class year.

  • 2 Mathematics Units

  • 1 Science Unit

  • 1 Social Studies Unit

  • 1 English Language Arts Unit

  • 1 Modern Language Unit

ATHLETICS

Cadets are expected to develop a basic competency in all 5 events of the modern pentathlon:

  • Fencing

  • 10m Air Pistol

  • 200m Freestyle Swimming

  • 800m Medium Distance Running

  • Obstacle Racing

FLIGHT

Cadets begin glider pilot training in their first year as a cadet and should expect to solo before the end of the school year.

LEADERSHIP

Cadets participate in a weekly Character Development seminar conducted by members of our faculty cadre. 4th Class Cadets will also engage with 2nd and 1st Class Cadets on a daily basis for mentoring, tutoring, and program accountability.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

All cadets are co-enrolled in either the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program or Scouts BSA. Cadets who are already enrolled in either CAP or BSA may continue with their current programs. Cadets who have not previously enrolled must choose a CAP or BSA unit for enrollment. All cadets must remain co-enrolled and active in their respective units throughout their time as Cadets of EAMA. Extra-curricular activities

All 4th Class Cadets participate in two extracurricular activities intended to provide foundational skills for future academic and professional development such as critical thinking, problem solving, social acuity, and patience.

  • Chess Basics

  • Public Speaking
